Feel secure in the dormitory with hundreds of COVID-19 infected students quarantined

Đón sinh viên đi học trực tiếp, các trường đại học phải đối diện với thực trạng số ca nhiễm COVID-19 tăng “chóng mặt”. Ký túc xá trở thành nơi vừa học online, vừa là khu cách ly cho sinh viên diện F0.

Ký túc xá Mễ Trì là một trong 3 ký túc xá của Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội. Nơi đây hiện có gần 2.000 học sinh, sinh viên theo học ở các trường thành viên của Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội.

Em Trần Thu Vân (Khoa Báo chí, Trường Đại học Khoa học Xã hội và Nhân văn) cho biết: “Là tân sinh viên, lần đầu tiên em được trải nghiệm sống trong khu ký túc xá và lại trong giai đoạn dịch bệnh.

Ban đầu em khá lo lắng khi số ca nhiễm trong ký túc xá tăng nhanh nhưng quan sát thấy các điều kiện chăm sóc F0 rất tốt.

When students return to face-to-face classes, universities face a dramatically increasing number of COVID-19 cases. The dormitory has become a place for both online learning and an isolation area for the infected.

Me Tri Dormitory is one of three dormitories of Vietnam National University Hanoi. It currently accommodates nearly 2.000 students studying at the member schools of VNU.

“As a freshman, I have experienced living in a dormitory for the first time, especially during the pandemic.

At first, I was quite worried when the number of infected in the dormitory increased rapidly, but I can see that the infected were very well taken care of.” said Tran Thu Van (Faculty of Journalism, University of Social Sciences and Humanities).

Bên ngoài cổng khu ký túc là phòng khám của Bệnh viện Đại học Quốc gia. Phòng ở sạch sẽ và nếu chẳng may bị F0 thì chỉ cần gọi điện cho căng-tin là các anh/chị hỗ trợ đưa cơm tới tận phòng. Một số bạn bè em diện F0 đều xin tự cách ly tại phòng và đến nay đã khỏi bệnh”.

“Outside the gate of the dormitory is the University clinic. The student’s room is clean, and if they accidentally become infected, they just need to call the cafeteria to bring food to their room. Some of my friends that were infected had asked to self-quarantine in their rooms and have recovered from COVID-19.”

Ông Nguyễn Văn Minh, Phó Trưởng ban Quản lý Ký túc xá Mễ Trì, Trung tâm hỗ trợ sinh viên, Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội cho biết: “Nhận thức được mật độ người đông trong khu ký túc xá, ngay từ dịch COVID-19 bùng phát tại Hà Nội, chúng tôi đã triển khai nhiều giải pháp để phòng, chống dịch. Đó là, tuyên truyền các biện pháp phòng dịch tới mỗi phòng ở, chuẩn bị khu cách ly, nhân viên y tế túc trực, điều kiện ăn uống đảm bảo an toàn thực phẩm tại nhà ăn ký túc…”.

Được biết, sau dịp Tết Nguyên đán, sinh viên trở lại trường học, số ca nhiễm COVID-19 lên tới vài trăm sinh viên trong thời gian rất ngắn.

“Aware of the high density of people in the dormitory, since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in Hanoi, we have implemented many solutions to prevent and control the pandemic i.e. propagandizing disease prevention measures to each room, preparing a quarantine area, on-duty medical staff, ensure food safety at the dorm’s cafeteria,...” said Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Deputy Chief of the Management Board of Me Tri Dormitory, Student Support Center, Vietnam National University Hanoi.

After the Tet holiday, students returned to school, and the number of COVID-19 infected students reached several hundred in a short period of time.

Khu cách ly dành cho F0 được Ban quản lý Ký túc xá bố trí một toà nhà riêng. Về sau, số lượng F0 tăng “chóng mặt” nên thời gian sau này F0 ở toà nhà nào sẽ cách ly tại toà nhà đó. Những hỗ trợ về nhu yếu phẩm, phát thuốc miễn phí, tư vấn kịp thời của bác sĩ… đã phần nào giúp những sinh viên xa nhà yên tâm.

Khu Ký túc xá Trường Đại học Thương Mại có 35 sinh viên diện F0. Theo ông Nguyễn Viết Thái, Trưởng phòng Đối ngoại và Truyền thông, Trường Đại học Thương Mại cho biết: “Ký túc xá vừa là nơi học online cũng vừa là khu cách ly với những sinh viên diện F0.

The isolation area for the infected is arranged in a separate building by the Dormitory Management Board. Later, because the number of infected increased rapidly, the infected will be quarantined at the building where they were staying. Support on necessities, free medicine distribution, and timely consultancy from doctors… has partly helped students far from home feel secure.

The Dormitory of Thuongmai University (TMU) has 35 infected students. According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Thai, Head of the Department of Communication and Foreign Affairs of TMU said: “The dormitory is both an online learning place and an isolation area for the infected.”

Những hỗ trợ mà trường đã làm là: Bố trí chỗ ăn ở riêng, cung cấp nhu yếu phẩm cần thiết, thuốc điều trị miễn phí… Nhà trường cũng luôn có đội sinh viên tình nguyện hỗ trợ các em. Nếu những sinh viên của trường ở ngoài mà không yên tâm điều trị khi bị nhiễm COVID-19 thì vẫn có thể vào ở khu cách ly của trường. Trường sẽ hỗ trợ tối đa để các em sinh viên diện F0 yên tâm điều trị”.

Tại khu ký túc xá Trường Đại học Bách khoa Hà Nội cũng có 20 sinh viên diện F0.  Ông Nguyễn Hữu Khôi, Giám đốc Trung tâm Quản lý ký túc xá Bách khoa cho biết: “Không chỉ hỗ trợ cho sinh viên về chỗ ở, thuốc men, nhu yếu phẩm mà Ban Quản lý ký túc xá có đội ngũ chăm sóc y tế online để nắm bắt kịp thời sức khoẻ theo từng khung giờ cho các em sinh viên diện F0. Cung cấp cho sinh viên số điện thoại một số quán ăn đảm bảo vệ sinh, giá cả hợp lý để các em gọi về phòng”.

The support that the University has done is arranging separate accommodation, providing necessities and free medical treatment, etc. The University also has a volunteer student team to support the infected. If students from other Universities are not assured of recovery when infected with COVID-19, they may enter the University quarantine area. The University will give maximum support to the infected students to recover.”

There are also 20 infected students at the dormitory of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.  Mr. Nguyen Huu Khoi, Director of Back Khoa Dormitory Management Center said: “The dormitory Management Board not only supported students with accommodation, medicine, and necessitates, but also has an online medical team to take care of students and timely collect information of the infected’s health following their own time frame. Providing students some restaurants’ phone numbers that are hygienic and reasonably priced for them to order food to their room”.
